Translogic Power Shifter

I did a search and didn't see this discussed on the forums yet. To be honest, I've never heard of a translogic power shifter, but thought you folks might like to know about it. Let's you shift by pushing buttons. Apparently this fellow has it installed on his GZ (see link - has pics).

He says that it retails at $1600. The price list says £624.99 ($980.56). Can't see postage being $619.44. :??:

People love to lie and help oversell what it essentially a non-essential piece of machinery....

It's useless unless maybe you are disabled or something. But even then, you should have a trike kit or something to keep from falling over.

I am so unimpressed. Unless a rider is missing a left foot this is totally impractical. This unit on a trike for a disabled rider would be good but on it's own it would be a liability. All it does is transfer the shifting to the left hand which is already burdened with the clutch, signals, horn and hi/lo switch.

Hmm. Good point. And it does appear the market is pretty limited. I had a guy come see my GS450 bobber once and he didn't have full range of motion in his right knee. So the bobber became impractical for him given the foot controls were in their stock location, yet the bike had been bobbed, lowered and rewelded. Something like this would work for him........if he had a problem with his left leg and not his right. LOL.

Does seem like a pretty limited market. Folks might be better off picking up an old Hondamatic or a Ridley (?).

Counting Cars, or something like that, a new show on the History Channel with Kount from Kounts Customs of Pawn Stars fame, had this device on a build. The customer was confined to a wheel chair, had a HD Softail he still wanted to ride with his wife. They moved all of the controls to the custom built, wheel chair accessible sidecar and used this for shifting. Pretty slick.
