Hey guys! New to the GZ250 forums! :2tup: I have put a slip on exhaust on my gz and have done a few other little mods here and there but what can I do to up the performance a bit?

Thanks,
N.

Yup, buy a bigger bike as Alantf said. The GZ is what it is and not really a get up and go machine. If you really like the GZ but need a bit more power a good replacement might be the LS 650/S-40. It is basically the big brother to the GZ and still a single cylinder machine. Kinda like a GZ on steroids. 60 pounds of more muscle.

There are several guides here for tuning the GZ. Check out the "Performance" section or check out the How-To's.

That said, the boys are right. There is only so much that you can do. Lots of people have been satisfied with their jetting adjustments and such, but this bike will never pull your arms off. I would think you'll be better served with nice tires, a good braking system and some technique development. Hit the twisties and leave your friends wondering why their 750cc sport bikes aren't faster than you over the Ft. Mountain pass...

I was always amazed the way Lynda could carve a path through the mountain twisties on her GZ. The tighter corners were the best where bigger bikes could be overwhelmed by power and mass whereas the GZ just motored along in it's element. She used to bit*h about large lumbering chrome cruisers dragging hard parts in front of her. It was so funny to hear a Grandmother berating those wannabe riders.

not every one can afford a bigger bike but you can expend under $100 on some upgrades to make a big difference
