Cafe style GZ250
I'm think I'm finally done with it, I might cut the rear fender down a bit, but thats it.

Re: Cafe style GZ250
Kinda a cool look. I will assume you don't need signal lights in Ohio.
Got to ask. Why does the rear end sit so high?? Taller shocks maybe?? |
Re: Cafe style GZ250
I like this one too.
I would get one of those Euro front fender tags, but that's just me. Good work, man! |
Re: Cafe style GZ250
Whatever he fitted, it's got to be better than the original  BTW, what's a euro front fender tag? It's a word (words) I've not heard before.

Ah yes. These things were pedestrian killers and banned in the UK, and probably the rest of Europe in the 1970's |

Here's my dad's. Late 1940s. He bought the bike after he came home from the war. |
Re: Cafe style GZ250
Great pic Alan. My dad had a Norton 500 side valve with a double adult Watsonian sidecar in the late 50's. We went out for a ride one Sunday out to Buxton, there were six of us on board, my Dad and Mum on the bike and us 4 kids in the sidecar. On the way back from Buxton we passed by the Cat and Fiddle towards Macclesfield, a notorious stretch of road. We went round a sharp bend and the anchor bolt between the bike and the sidecar snapped. Fortunately the bike and sidecar leaned in towards each other instead of separating, but we still rolled over. I can still remember now looking through the sidecar window and seeing my mother pinned underneath us. We were all taken to Macclesfield Hospital with minor injuries, the worst of which was my Mums cracked ribs. We were very lucky, if the the bike and sidecar had separated things wouldn't have worked out quite the same. There for the grace of God!!

I love that picture... and being reminded that I'm like 1/3 of your age...
I do appreciate the stories though :) There's nothing better than some Historical narrative and a little European perspective. |

Re: Cafe style GZ250
I hated the seat and rear fender so I got rid of them and made a cafe racer style seat for it. Its not perfect but its not bad for about $25 in supplies.

Re: Cafe style GZ250
Hey, that's actually pretty cool. Any more info on what you used to make it?

Very nice!

nice job on the budget seat build. I made a cheap seat once out of a broken mailbox I had in the garage. the base was a perfect fit for the Honda cm200 I was working on. I never upholstered it. I just left it bare and it sucked, but it held my butt, lol

Nice bike
Where did you get the headlight fairing from? Do you have a part# or make of bike its from? The closest one I found like yours fits a factory Harley
