Welcome to the forum. You can burn regular fuel no problems. If you use the higher grades, your just wasting money. These bikes are designed to run on cat piss in 3rd world country's. It's a good idea to put some Sea Foam in the fuel 2 or 3 times a season to keep things clean.
:2tup: :)

Re: Intro and gas octane question

Hello Ziggy. I switched on and off from Marathon gas and then tried Shell V power. The bike seems to run better on Shell V power, so I have stayed with it for almost 3/4 of a year. Like others say, the GZ can run on about anything, so I don't think there is a right or wrong answer. I like the way the bike has been running with the V power so that is what I stick with. I also put in some Seafoam every 3rd or 4th tank full. I have had no problems with the fuel. The Marathon gas I used was the regular grade, mid grade and the higher grade. The GZ seemed to run the same on all of those grades. When I tried the V power, after 2 tanks the bike just seemd to idle, and run much smoother. That is what I use. Hope it helps. GZBrian

Glad it helps you, but when I tried it, there was no difference except a lighter wallet. :2tup: :) (thinks bubble - Hm...Wonder if the V power is different in the US of A? Everything else to do with fuel seems to be. It seems to have nasty additives that they don't have anywhere else in the world  )

Check your local auto parts store. It is a fuel additive/cleaner. Many folks rave about it's ability to clean up a fuel system without tearing anything apart.
