I'm new and so is this project..
Hello from me, from down here in New Zealand. I joined the forum as I am about to embark on a new restoration project, my GZ 250. It was given to be by a neighbor who had it in his shed for many years. He had to move and had to empty his shed. I actually didn't know what it was as it was covered in rubbish. It was imported here from Oregon, ridden to the shed and parked up. Period. So it is seized from the front brake caliper to the rear wheel bearing including the gearbox and probably the engine. Although, it is complete and assembled. It even still has the Oregon plate on it. I'm not a mechanic, but pretty handy with a tool box and I have worked on a few bikes over the years although not so many 4 stroke engines. This will be interesting....So I will start by finding the serial number, source a workshop manual and make a start. When I get my arm out of this sling that is. Bloody motorbikes! :hi:

marvel oil...
yup good advice thanks. I planned to remove the engine completely and do something of that nature. I cant get marvel oil here but there must be something similar to use. If I set the motor aside soaking I can work on getting the wheels to turn around....siezed brakes etc.
