Voltage Monitor

A couple weeks ago I fortunately found what I have wanted for some time now. The local Wally World had a Schumacher voltage monitor that plugs into a power point. Easily transferable from either bike or cages. Comes with a piece of 2 sided tape but I will probably use sticky backed velcro so it won't be a hassle moving it around.
Some pics to show the unit in action plugged into the Vstrom.

Hey that's pretty cool. What did that puppy cost?

It was about $20 Can. so you can figure a better price south of the border. I was debating a permanent mounting on the bike with it wired into the ignition switch. Might be feasible if it was painted with clear nail polish to seal and waterproof the seams of the unit. Wouldn't take a lot to do it right for a permanent mount.
Think I'll Goggle these guys and see what other toys they have.

did you just wire it straight to the battery, or what? I'm a terrible electrician.

ANYTHING can be wired straight to the battery. Just don't forget to fit an INLINE FUSE. :2tup:

I just plug it into a power point on the bike. That way it can be used on either bike or a cage. Actually looked for the actual price and it was $18 without tax. Not bad for a portable set-up or a permanent set-up if desired. When I get ambitious I will compare the voltage reading with my meter hooked directly to the battery. Not anticipating any voltage drop through the power point wiring that would be of major concern.
