Specs Versus Stamp on Engine

Ok...so I'm OLD.
We just brought home a 2009 GZ250. Looking at specs online, the engine is listed as a 199cc.
Stamped on the engine is 249 cm3.
Can anyone help? Thanks...

The engine stamp is the correct displacement.

the stamp on the engine is& use for the cost of getting it redgister so 249cc is a lower fee than a 250cc and above thats how its rated in japan

"thumper".....Single cylinder. Slow revs, thump thump thump.
