valve clearance adjustment help
 
I performed a valve adjustment a few weeks back and man it helped a lot felt like it doubled my power and helped with a high idle while riding and then stalling when coming to a stop. I was a hearing a little bit of a rattle noise so decided to get back in there to see if something was off. While taking off the cover to the valve stem area I noticed the black piece that the engine covers attach were a little lose (thinking this might have been the rattle). I checked the clearance and opened them up a bit. put it all back together and the bike is now running really rough. I attaching a video of it starting with the choke about half on and the bike is cold. as i turn the choke it gets better, im a little afriad to get in there in the morning when its cold again ill get back in there and check the intake cause i think they are too lose.

You need feeler gauges and set those suckers to factory spec.
Anywhere between the lower and upper limit as stated in the service manual.
(s.m. available on this website)
Just shoot for the middle of the range stated in the manual.
Remember intake and exhaust have different specs.
Once they are properly set according to proper feeler gauges then any rough running
problem will be elsewhere. Carb, compression, electrical... yadda yadda.

yeah iv been using them but last week when i first made the adjustment the bike sounded much better. after this time is when the bike sounded like it does now, i am just checking with people who have done this before to see if it sounds like this cause i am correct in assuming that they are now too lose, thanks for any help.

after i get the right clearance and tighten the nuts down i turn the crankshaft 720 degrees then i recheck the clearance and its lose again. what gives? any insight.

getting close to killing my whole weekend and need bike for work on monday hoping its something stupid im doing and not something i messed up
