2000 gz250

This is my first bike and I've only had it for just over a week. Put some minor work into it icluding bars, chain, levers, and mirrors, as well as some basic maintenance. Bought it used with only 5000 miles. Tell me what you think

Yup, the paint job with pinstriping adds a touch of class to the bike.

Beautiful bike! Not a lot mileage, which means with TLC it'll serve you for a long time!

Do you have a service record for the bike? If not you may want to do a valve check just to be safe. If you don't want to do it yourself a shop should do it for about an hour's time in most cases.

Don't have a service record for the bike but everything seems decent. I've been getting a lot of help maintaining it from my dad and uncle who have both been riding for a while. Anything else I should check?

You likely have OEM tires. They are too old to be safe. As a rule of thumb any tire over 5 years old is unsafe as it will harden up and be slippery rather than grippy. The amount of tread left is of no consequence. Changing the front brake fluid is a good idea too.

I just ordered tires off of amazon so they should be coming in next week hopefully. And I did bleed the brakes as soon as I got the bike
