Good Job! :2tup:
Excellent photos! I'm going to have to get one of these myself. |
Power of the Forum!
I started reading about the 16T sprocket here, waited a week or so and decided to order it. About a day later I noticed folks posting that their orders were back-ordered. Guess what, so is mine! Somewhere in Sprocketville there is a production manager who is scratching his head wondering what happened. Of course, once they ramp up production to meet demand, everyone on the forum will already have one and the already low price will drop to $1.50 as the shelves fill up. Gosh, my economics professor was right - I would use that stuff one day! ;)

i went to that site the bikebandit one and i looked at the one that said 16t but i noticed it said it had 15 teeth is that the correct sprocket

15-16 Teeth
Fifteen is the standard non-modified stock sprocket. The 16 tooth sprocket is the one we have been discussing in the modifications. This non-stock sprocket changes the gear ratios and seems to give a smoother ride with less RPMs required and a wider powerband. At least, that is what everyone has been saying (I haven't heard a negative comment yet) and I can't wait to get mine in to see how it feels.
You might want to check out the "how to" link in the postings above to see what the fuss is all about. |

Highly unlikely it will void your warranty (unless you do it yourself and screw something up in the process). I figure haveing the dealer do it makes that tiny chance even less. |
There are several other sprocket companies out there, guys.
JT is the one that I have used in the past and the one I am most familiar with. You can also look up: AFAM Sprocket Specialist Suntour (they may only be for bicycles, I can't remember) Sunstar Vortex There are others, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. If the JT sprocket is backordered, you can just order one through another company. Some other websites to help you are: www.MAWonline.com www.ronayers.com www.parts411.com www.denniskirk.com |
front sprocket
hey for any of you bigger riders who experience insufficient power perhaps a change to lower gearing using a 14 tooth sprocket makes sense here is a link
http://www.bikebandit.com/product/A5261379 this will raise rpm by 7% but give more pulling ability and maybe top end. |

Your information is correct, of course, but I suspect that it would be of value to only a TINY number of people.......if any at all. OTOH, it is fairly simple and cheap to try, for anyone who thinks it might be beneficial. |
