Gz250 Will Not Start With Video
Hello All!
My Gz250 sat in the rain last night and somehow water got in the tank. When I went to start it it did not turn on, so I emptied the tank and cleaned the carburetor. Now it only starts when i spray a little bit of starting fluid. Has anyone else had this problem before? If so how did you fix it? I'm kind of new to this but i really just want to get back on the road.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdLlYC8wI0Y |
I'm not much help with the innards of a carb but I have an idea or 2. Did you have the carb off the bike? If so, did you reconnect the choke cable? Did you get the vacuum hoses on the rear of the fuel switch on correctly? One might not be on and is drawing air into the engine and leaning out the fuel mixture?
Some one with more experience will be along shortly to expand on my ideas and likely know of the problem and the actual fix. I doubt it is a serious problem so hang in there. |
Thank you for replying I appreciate it a lot!! I did have the carb off and took the bowl out sprayed a little bit of carb cleaner but did not mess with the internals when I placed the carb back on the bike I made sure to reconnect all hoses exactly how it was taken off also when I took the carb out I got really watered down gas

Sounds like the float may be stuck blocking the flow of fuel to fill the bowl.Try tapping on the side of the bowl that may free the hung up float. :)

Thank you for your reply! I'm about 20 minutes from my house should I tap it with a wrench or just small taps with my hand? I'll let you know what happens

i tried tapping on the side and bottom of the bowl no response so I used a wrench...still nothing

When I had the carb out earlier today the float was freely moving would I have to take the whole carb off again?
