Thanking santa

Yes I did. The windshield and the saddle bags are new. I really like not having the cold wind directly on my hands and the bags gets the backpack off my back

Nice purty blue one.

What kind of windshield is that? I don't think I've ever seen one quite like it.

Windshield

Slipstreamer SS-28 (Their web site is listed under this forum under "General" and then "General")

Fits the GZ standard. I had/have a Slipstreamer viper but it didn't give any protection for the hands. I found this one on ebay. They sell for 140 retail, 102 on ebay and this one was an open box that I won for 53

I have a National Cycle Plexistar 2 I got when my Suzki shield fell apart. I got this one to protect my hands from the cold wind. I helps some with the cold but where it really shines is rain. In light rain I don't get any water on my hands unless I stop. I haven't had it in heavy rain yet.

JNortonSR, Santa was indeed nice to you. Bike looks real sharp. Questions for you. Like the bags but want more info. Who makes them, where did you get them, did you need side brackets to keep them free of wheels etc, dimensions/capacity and how do you get into them ?? Also, , are they waterproof ?? Windshield questions. Are the mounts specific to the 250 or universal fit ?? The one thing that I always wonder about is whether the bike can push through the wind with a larger shield. Have you noticed a difference in highway performance ?? Lynda is oogling accessories right now and wants bags and shield for her baby. Thanks in advance.

Saddlebags

The bike performs real well on the road, and by accident I had it out in the rain last night. Not a drop fell on the helmet while I was moving, as for wind resistance it shoots it right over the helmet.

The saddle bags are from Jafrum.com 58.95 (It's their last set of bags listed on their site)

They go under the passenger seat and they claim that they don't need supports but fully loaded they want to go into the tire. But...

for 4.50 you can make them from ACE Hardware.

4 - 8mm bolts 1 1/4 to 1/2 inches = 1.00
4- nuts = 1.00
2 - 3/8 x 36 inches crome rods = 2.50

You make a model of what you want with a coat hanger, then lay it out on a piece of wood and drill 4 holes and put the bolts through them (one at each bend and one at each end) then with a pair of vice grips and channel locks you bend it around your jig and make eyelets at the end. Takes about 10 minutes and looks just like the one you would buy from suzuki for 60 bucks. (Since they are under the bags you won't see them but since they're crome you know they will look nice.
