Link to Valve Adjustments Page

Hello All,

I have seen long threads on adjusting valves, yet no one has provided any nice step by step photos to go along with the procedures.

Well, I finally found someone who did.

Here is the link:

Hope it helps

Yes, this is a great page. I followed these instructions a few weeks ago and it went very smoothly. The only real trouble was getting my 'feeler guage' hand AND the light, AND my eyes in the right position all at the same time. I've never seen a photo of someone actually getting there fingers in there so I'll post mine:

BTW, I couldn't be bothered to make a trip to the bike shop to get a proper tool to turn the valve screw so I just took a suitable Robertson screw and screwed it into a short chunk of dowel. Worked great!

Cheers!

The stem remover from a schrader valve fits perfectly.

After fighting with all sorts of headlights, trouble lights and shadows I finally found something that works. I ran across a ball cap with 2 LED's built into the beak. Puts the light right where I want it. Later I found a small LED clip on that fits a ball cap. They both work very well without the hassle of holding a light, power cords or a lot of heat from a bulb. Batteries are not cheap but working in the Bat Cave underground is kinda dark 100% of the time.

Excellent idea! I'll pick up one of those for my kit.

I haven't had a chance to get in there yet, so I'm not sure about this.
In the original linked article, there's a comment from a user:
"One problem. This bike has forked rocker arms. In order to properly adjust the screw and locknut on a bike that has forked rocker arms, you must have two sets of feeler gauges; one for each arm. If you don’t have that, the fork will tilt to one side, throwing off your adjustment slightly."

Do you folks think this is something to be concerned about?
