Oh nice new shiny parts. Have fun and keep us updated.

Could you give us your impression of the parts quality? They look good on your picture.

My impression is. OK.
Not marvelous but definitely not bad.
Till I install them that's all I got.
These are the 'from china' gn/gz250 overhaul parts.
Stock bore. Not a .5mm over.
I guess I can unpack the rings and gap 'em. See how close to spec they are ;)
Perhaps tomorrow...

Couldn't resist. Opened the rings packet and slid a compression ring into the cylinder, squared it up with the piston and checked ring gap. Service limit is .5 mm. I got .22. Looks like this will just throw together with no ring gap filing.
Edit
Just checked wiseco charts and found the rings are very close to perfect gap.
So out of the box looks good.

Again. Still. Installation will tell.

I'm looking at having to replace the bottom gasket between the head and bottom case so I'm interested in your progress. May I ask the cost involved for the parts?
Although I have this gasket leak, I'm not ready to give up my GZ...:)

ebay
seller mopedfactory rating 99+%
cost 70 bux
but from china so 36 shipping
Obviously until I get around to installing it and running it for a while I can't say if it's worth it.

Thanks for the info. For the ~$100 I'm willing to bite but I'll wait a bit more until you can post your results. My mechanic wants ~$800 to replace just the gasket...

This could be a while so don't hold your breath ;). However... If my motor grenades tomorrow I'll have no choice. Heh. Anywho. Still dealing with the aftermath of record flooding.

The kit did not come with exhaust gaskets. And as you need to pull the head to do this and the kit didn't come with them. Get a couple of these.
Just got mine.
