Draining carb bowls
 

Hello fellow GZ250 owners! I'll preface this by saying I'm new here, new to GZ250's and new to motorcycles in general, so please bare with me if I'm asking any stupid questions.

I was looking to do some carb maintenance on my 2007 GZ250 and I wanted to start by draining the carb bowls of the fuel (something like what this guy does at 1:02 in the video: https://youtu.be/Xm5RZF6jCPQ?t=1m2s). Unfortunately the guy in this video does not have the same bike!

So my question is, does the GZ250 have a float bowl drain screw that you'd need to unscrew to drain the fuel from the carbs? If it does would somebody be able to point it out on n image or take a picture of it so that I can locate it?

If we do not have a float bowl screw, any idea how to drain the carbs a different way?

Lucky for you, we have a float bowl drain screw. Just unscrew it some and fuel will start to drip out.

Don't rush this process or you'll make a huge flammable mess!

Once it drained, you can do whatever maintenance you want to do on the bike.
Now, that being said, unless you're going to do a total rebuild of the carb, you don't really have to drain the float bowl. The only thing that draws fuel from the bowl is engine vaccuum. So you can do quite a bit of carb play without losing any fuel.

Handy drain. I was just thinking it might be a good idea to do a flowt bowl drain once a year to drain out any unwanted build-up of deposits. That and an inline fuel filter should keep things mung free.
