Prayers for you, your family, and the entire east coast. I hope the storm is not a brutal as predicted. Check in when you can to let us know you are safe. I hope you have the essentials to hold you down until it passes. Cleveland Ohio is expected to get 70 mph winds with power outages starting Monday afternoon. Take care!

We are much better prepared, physically and mentally, in Florida, for these storms, than you guys are up North. Be safe.

Re: Hurricane Sandy

Dunno why, but we seem to have caught the tail end of the hurricane. Our little island is around 3000 miles in a direct line, across the Atlantic, from New York. Got up this morning, And all was fine. Suddenly the wind got up. Trees are flattened, Heavy pots on the patio (containing shrubs) that are too heavy for us to lift were sliding around like they were on ice (and the temperature's nearly 90ยบ) Power went off for 6 hours, so it looks like the power lines were blown down. They've closed the schools. We got no prior warning, but now they're telling us that it's going to get worse, this evening & during the night. Can't understand it. I thought we were far enough away, but it seems bigger than anyone thought. :??:

That storm is around 1000 miles wide, not big enough to affect you, that's something going on in a different weather pattern nearer to you.

It's been on the news, that it IS the tail end of Sandy, and now it's hovering over Morocco. Seems like it's a weird hurricane. :)
