Just purchased first motorcycle! '08 gz250
Hello everyone. My name is Rich and I just bought a 2008 gz250 with 3400 miles. I am really excited! I have taken the MSF course and got my license already. I just got the bike insured just need to transfer title to my name. I plan on starting small and mastering the fundamentals (even though I rode her 15miles on the interstate today to get her home). I look forward to learning a lot from this great community. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the purchase.
I did the same thing. Passed the course, bought a bike, and then, having not ridden on the freeway yet, had to ride it home about 15 miles at 60-65 mph. My wife said I looked uncomfortable (she was following behind). Which I probably did look uncomfortable. I was going into the wind with no windshield most of the way! (I recall that very clearly). |

Welcome Rich. You've come to the right place to drop anchor. A couple things for mastering the basics will help. 1st, pick up a copy of Proficient Motorcycling by David Hough. 2nd, make sure to invest in protective gear in case something happens and you hit the ground.[/quote] I have already done both. About half way through the book and learning a lot. |
