Re: Parking Lot Practice - Milestone? or Potential Tombstone

Hi and congrats! It sounds like you have very good slow speed riding skill, which is something I'm always struggling with. On the "Ride Like A Pro" video with "Motorman" Palladino, he's always...

Re: Hello from Canada...laid my bike down on a bad road.

Excellent work troubleshooting and repairing! Very impressive. I have a lot of trouble with electricals whenever they go wrong.

That's great news. I hope everything continues to go very well for you, even if it is a tiny bit slow. Speed isn't everything!

Re: Baron Engine Guard?????

Thats great info about the brake pedal being so high. All this time I kinda thought it was just me or there was something wrong with my foot. I'll try to adjust it.

Re: Hey dummy, look ahead for brake lights!

Wow glad you are ok! Panic stops on the highway are definitely no fun, and I think that's where a lot of motorcycle fatalities take place. Good job getting off the road and that the idiot behind...

Re: gravel

Hi, as someone who lives on a gravel/washboard road I agree with this 100%. Best to keep your feet on the pegs at all times. Don't fret when the front wheel is dancing about in front of you. ...

Re: I need to learn how to wave!

I guess I shouldn't whine but it seems like now that the weather is nice, the people riding don't wave anymore. During the winter, 4/5 people on bikes waved back. On today's ride to work I was 0/7. :(

Re: A tip - a word to the wise

Hi, yeah I know it's from about 4 years ago, but it's still good advice! I went for my lunch break yesterday, about 7pm and it was about 95 degrees F, which is about 35C, and this is what I came out...

Re: I just bought a 2009 Suzuki GZ250

Hi and welcome! I know what you mean about prices. $$$

I don't know if you use the pillion seat when you ride, but what I did was to buy an old torn up back seat on ebay for $20, strip it, and...

Re: I need to learn how to wave!

It's always seemed to me (in all the countries I've driven in), that they take the most arrogant policemen, and put them on traffic patrol. Then they take the most arrogant of the traffic patrol, and...

Re: I need to learn how to wave!

lol, sorry. I really don't have anything at all against leather vests, except maybe the one in that pic. I think they look great and all, it's just that they kind of seem mandatory on a Harley.

Re: Hailing from South Philladelphia

Hi and welcome! That shield looks great! I can't see the tiny pic that well... for some reason it won't get any larger when I click on it, but it looks like a great addition to the bike!

Re: Do accessories add to trade-in value?

Sometimes windshields and/or saddlebags are universal fit, so maybe you could get one for utility over the summer and then take them off to put on your new bike when you get one?

Re: So I checked out a used GZ for the first time...

I agree. I checked cl about 8 times a day, and the one I bought just popped up on there during my lunch break. Luckily it was about 5 miles from where I work, so I ran over there and gave them $800...

Re: Newbie

Hm I might have to try that! I've only been riding for 9 months or so, but hit real stop and go traffic only once or twice. I didn't get the hang of it at all, but your tip might help. Thanks!

That is the funniest thing I've read in quite a while :) Sorry you had such a hard time entering the site. That must be a new feature because I don't remember it, but we were getting a lot of spam...

That's a great story. I hope you have fun on your GZ and I'm sure your Harley friends will understand, as soon as they see the big ol grin on your face!

Re: I need to learn how to wave!

I don't get it, either, but I do tend to expect it now. Just had a visit with an uncle the other day who rides a big 1100 Honda, but dreams of a Harley, and the first thing out of his mouth was when...

Hi! I've never seen that shield but it looks fantastic! Great hand protection, which is just what you need for cold weather. I was worried about the HD having 1" bars, but it says it includes 7/8"...

Re: 1999 Suzuki Marauder vz800 Starter issue

Also, does it do this every single time? Like scenario 1 never fires and scenario 2 always fires? because the solenoid would be just as dirty either way. I'd try to limit the number of variables if...

Re: 1999 Suzuki Marauder vz800 Starter issue

I think, and I may be wrong, that when they're talking about the solenoid being grimy and not making contact, they're talking about the inside part of it, not the external connectors. Inside, it's...

Re: Front fork fluid - small leak from dust seal

They're kind of multi-material, but mainly sort of a steel ring wrapped in rubber. I do imagine they might rot a bit but I imagine, like Water Warrior said, it's just as likely that once the oil...

Re: Front fork fluid - small leak from dust seal

Hi I would definitely try to use seal mates first: http://sealmate.net/

I had a quite substantial leak on my VX on the right fork: every time I shoved the front suspension down, I'd see fluid run...
