Re: Oil Leak / Cylinder gasket replacement?!?

I would not ride the GZ until it's fixed, the front left cylinder stud hole is also the oil feed to the top of the cylinder head. If whats left of the gasket lets go there goes your engine!

Re: Replacement Tires

I did do a search and did not find much info, I know that they don't need to match but I like them to.

Re: What does flooding the bike Mean?
I think that's plenty new enough to have an enricher rather than a butterfly choke.......but I don't know for sure.
The GZ does use a "enricher" & my '73 GT750 also uses a enricher...

Re: What to do when a bolt/stud and nut are spinning in harm

If you keep running the engine with the "poot poot" sound you may end up cracking the cylinder head!

Take a look:

Re: Reserve tank issue

This was true back then, not now because there are no rubber parts used in today's carbs.Ether if used in excess will ruin a engine,a lot of automotive stores won't stock it.

Re: Cross Threaded Spark Plug Hole

Just follow the manual, stuff a clean rag under the cam shaft gear so you dont drop any bolts into the crankcase. Also be sure to replace the cylinder base gasket.

Re: Cross Threaded Spark Plug Hole

Same here! The thread size is 12x1.25mm 98.9% of auto engines use 14x1.25 threads & all thread chasers that I have seen are 14mm/18mm so you will need a long reach tap. You may be able to blow out...

Re: Reserve tank issue

I rebuilt a rack of four carbs on a '81 Honda CB750C that the PO had used spray carb cleaner as starting fluid. Most of the rubber parts turned into goo and cloged the carbs. Use starting fluid...

Re: Rebuilt the engine!

If you ignore the popping sound and keep running the engine you could end up with a cracked cylinder head, don't ask me how I know.

Re: Rebuilt the engine!

Anytime you remove the cylinder head you should always replace the base gasket or you will have a oil leak, don't ask me how I know.

Re: Another Can't find tires for my bike thread

A "tubeless" tire is made for a wheel that has no spokes so no tube is needed. You can use a "tubeless" tire on a spoked wheel, you just need a rim strip and a tube :)
