The alternative is to move them back some to reduce the leverage and use shock for something heavy....like a Harley or something. :) Or maybe a Gold Wing... There will be 2 support bars coming up...

I plan on using different shocks and possibly a linkage setup to change ratio instead of the stock ones. They're just there to illustrate concept...

Well, this project was obviously on hold for a while... My wife bought me a Honda (*GASP*) CBR250 so we could ride 2-up at highway speeds (and I'm a sportbike guy anyhow, though...

UPDATE:
Bike has been marked for extra bracket removal, and I've found that a Honda CB175 tank's inner circles fit the GZ's rubber tank pucks PERFECTLY. They are, however a bit high on the gas...

Further mods will include a main battery relocation to tail, uni-style air filter to replace airbox, and some rear fender improvisation to shield the air filter from rain spray.
