Re: Cold Starting Difficulty - update!

Replaced the battery with a new Yuasa and it started fine....the old battery was only 2/3s the size of the Yuasa ( I got the bike used) - so I wonder if that was up to the job to begin with

Re: Cold Starting Difficulty

Don't know...I bought the bike used - the battery was aftermarket and didn't appear to be new.... It was defintely cold when I tried to start it up.....so I agree with your explanation.

Re: Cold Starting Difficulty

Oh, I should have stated that I did turn it to prime prior to starting - but not for a full 30 seconds. That just might be the answer as it would run for a few seconds and then cut off. It did turn...

Suzuki S40 opinions

I am thinking of buying a new S40...I really like the GZ but just want a little more speed. Was thinking that the s40 is essentially the GZ big brother which can do 70 - 75 MPH with ease (or so I've...

The hose to nowhere....

There is a small diameter hose (5/16'' OD) coming off the bottom of my carburetor that is about a foot long and drops down between the frame. The bike runs fine but I was wondering what purpose it...

Oil and ZDDP levels

Does the GZ have a cam and flat rocker type tappet system as found on the S40 / Savage? Does the motor oil need to have at least 1200 ppm of zinc to avoid excessive wear? (apparently zinc levels were...
