i'm with alan and cayuse. 50 lbs. is a lot of mass strapped to your spine. hate to think of having an off with that scenario. i wear a pack every time i ride but it has a rainsuit and spare gloves.

it looks like it may have fallen off the splined section onto the threaded section then fastened down with an impact tool.
if it were fastened by hand it never would have happened.
i hammered it...

i bought the bike from an ohio dealer and imported it to canada myself.
as a part of the canadian dealers gouging policy the warranty is null and void north of the border. :fu:

16 tooth sprocket surprise
i replaced the front sprocket today. when i looked at the lockwasher i found that it had been damaged . half of the splines were crushed as if the nut had been tightened with the washer misaligned....
