Re: Front fender bolt sizes? (Or does anyone have a spare se

Oh ok. I thought there was more to it like length and thread gap, etc, not just width. Although, I suppose I could easily take the bike and see if the clerk will let me try a few bolts. Thanks!

Front fender bolt sizes? (Or does anyone have a spare set?)

Hi folks, my wife and I removed her front fender to give it more of a rat bike look (looked pretty cool actually). Now she's ready to move up and wants to sell so we need to replace the fender, but I...

Re: North Carolina representative

Woot, another Raleigh rider! My wife has been riding her GZ lately, though the weather this week is keeping her off the road. Not sure when we'll be out again, but we love company!

Re: Selling my baby.....

Keep in mind that folks have lots of cheap options for starter bikes here in the States. If they can afford to spend 2.5-3k, they are probably going to splurge for the extra 500 or so and get...

The VTX

Just thought I'd add some pics of my bike. My lovely wife got me a chrome radiator cover for my birthday last month, so try to imagine it with that on there, too!

Once I get my wife to sign up...

Re: First "long" ride

My wife just started riding after taking the MSF course, too, and she said the same thing. Watching her from my bike, it looks like she's all confidence. Then, we stop and she's shaking and like...

Re: Why?

I have a 1300 and I ride my wife's GZ more often than I do it. Unless I'm planning on going for a longer ride, the GZ is just more fun. It's nimble as hell.

I'm not saying larger bikes don't have...

Re: clutch Washer position??

The Parts manual actually has better exploded diagrams of how parts fit together. It's in the troubleshooting forum in the same post as the service manual.

Re: Ear plugs

Must depend a lot on the helmet. With my fullface, if I ride more than 30 minutes, I experience some mild temp hearing loss. I have a scorpion exo.

Re: A new one from Spain

Haha sorry to digress but this brought me back to when I started riding. I used to think "Windshields look terrible. Bags look terrible. Who needs a sissy bar? I like low-profile seats." After a year...

Re: Riding a GZ in China

It's really hard to find bags big enough to put a fullsize laptop into. I've been thinking about dropping $250 on one of those little netbooks just so I can access the internet and do some writing if...

Re: Need help Ran bike dri!!! OF OIL!

I will never complain about my little GZ's problems again. Keep us in the loop as you work through this.

I did see an engine on eBay, by the way. Min bid is $500 though. :P

Re: what does a hyper charger do to your gas milage.

Ditto on what Burkbuilds said. Your posts are a little rough around the edges but contain a lot of really good info. Plus, every forum needs its lovable grouch. ;)

Re: Needle shim modification

By the way, for those who don't know their way around a carb, like me, page 11 of the Parts manual (see the first post in the Troubleshooting section to download it) has an exploded diagram of the...

I think what SavingFuel missed (sorry to go off topic just when it was getting back to luggage again) is that this is a community, not a bunch of support specialists waiting to answer questions. The...

Re: Idea: Key clock

Woot someone who's actually gonna give the idea a try!

I've been thinking, and I wouldn't make it too flush to the triple tree, though; you'll want some extra sticking out to grip with pliers if...

Sweet, sounds good! Now I just need to get her bike back from the shop. For those who followed the saga from a month ago, yeah, turns out it wasn't just a gunked up carb after all and they've spent 3...

Re: Ear plugs

I use disposables every night and on longer rides. They definitely get nasty after a few uses, but you can clean them off and they're not bad if you let them dry completely.

Intercoms and safety

I bought some BlueAnt bluetooth intercoms really cheap off Craigslist for my wife and I to talk during rides. We plan to keep communication to the bare minimum (need a bathroom break-type stuff), but...
