Re: My GZ250 Rat Bobber

I like it too. But my soon to be 58 year old butt may need a bit more in the seat department.

Re: Bike won't run over 20 mph, sputtering idle

Has the bike been sitting for a while just before the problem happened? I'd suspect a plugged, or partly plugged, pilot jet. Doesn't take much tolug one.

Re: NEW! STA-BIL® Ethanol Treatment.

I hadn't had the problem either, but then, the last two winters I rode straight through, so the bikes never sat for long. That was in western Wa. State. I won't be storing my motorcycles in our new...

Re: NEW! STA-BIL® Ethanol Treatment.

Well, I used Stabil in a Craftsman riding lawn mower and a brand new Kymco People 150. It doesn't say it's a special ethanol formulae, but in the description on the back says it'll stabilize gas with...

Re: Turning off Gas

This confusion on gas "petcocks" can be excused due to the fact that very new riders may never have been exposed to the earlier petcocks that were , and are, gravity fed, engine vacuum having nothing...

Re: changing tires yourself

I replaced both tires on a 2005 Kawasaki KLR250 dual sport a ccouple years ago (traded the bike off later). It's not bad. Remember that off road riders need to be able to fix a flat on the trail. I...

Re: Why would an old experienced consider a new GZ250?

What is stock on the front sproket--maybe a 14 tooth?? 169 before reserve is pretty respectable.
I went to Hinshaws motorcycles Sunday to sit on various bikes I'm considering. Thay have a new...

Re: speed

Closing date on our house just got pushed up to the end of August. The inspection is Tuesday, so I'm stressed out about that. I had to give notice at my job that my last day will be Aug 20th. If we...

Re: Why would an old experienced consider a new GZ250?

Yes, I do l like the Savage/S40 also. Drawbacks are 1.2.8 gallon tank is a might small, and 2. the cam chain tensioner is a well known weakness. It's got a real one of a kind design of this...

Re: speed

Still deciding. We are hashing out an offer on the house we have to sell first. If the deal goes through it would close by about the third week in September. I'm planning on having two motorcycles-a...

Why would an old experienced consider a new GZ250?

We are (hopefully) getting close to moving from the mainland (Puyallup, Wa.) to the Big Island of Hawaii. Shipping is very spendy. We are seling our mainland motorcycles and my wife's scooter, and...

Re: speed

A scooter can really get off the line quickly while you lose time on your motorcycle shifting.

Re: Down time this morning 11/1

I've heard bad things about Paypal when used on Ebay. When buying anything on ebay I use money ordres or some kind of secured cashiers check, or I wouldn't buy.

Re: Lower handlebars!!

I know this is an old thread, but I think the bars he put on really improve the bike. I hate the stock bars that come on many "cruisers".

Re: Harley Sportster 883 Custom

I paid $5000 for this one brand new in December of 2007. It was a leftover '07 and mid winter.$5000 out the door. I have three bikes, but, often as not, if it's just a fun back road ride I want to go...

Re: Harley Sportster 883 Custom

The new Triumph Bonneviles are fine machines. I also like the Scrambler and Thruxton versions very much. I ride a 2006 Sportster XL883, and a 2007 Yamaha XT225 dual sport, and my 2007 Royal Enfield...

Re: I miss my GZ250bike

I've heard the CX500/CX650 Hondas were very well made and very long lasting. By the way, did you know Honda made a CX650 Turbo model? They also tried making a flat track bike with I believe the CX500...
