BIG thanks to Patrick and Jonathan. I went to WalMart and bought a nice little Shumacher charger/maintainer for $30. I got it home, took the battery of my bike, and charged it on the 2A setting as...

Re: Choke makes bike harder to turn over...?

Blaine, that was a perfect answer. And I did end up charging my battery. Went out the next morning when it was cold again, and with the freshly charged battery and the choke on, bike fired right up....

Re: Trouble starting cold - choke doesn't help

Awesome dude - thanks! I think there are even some Harbor Freight stores here in Phoenix. For some reason, I was under the impression that most of the stuff there was cheaply made - any truth to that...

Re: Trouble starting cold - choke doesn't help

Thanks jonathan and mrlmd1. I think I will do just that - go out and buy a battery charger as you suggested. I'm not sure about the vacuum leaks, I suppose I could check for that too.

Thanks guys...

Re: Trouble starting cold - choke doesn't help

Thanks Patrick - I was wondering about that. You think I can get away with just taking it out and getting it charged, or might I need a new one? I guess I can take it in and get it tested to find...

Trouble starting cold - choke doesn't help

Hi everyone :)

It's been awhile since I've been on here, largely because my bike has been running awesome - until this morning anyway. I went out to start it after not having ridden it in about a...

Re: Melted cr@p on the exhaust pipe

It took me a long time to actually get to trying this, but to blaine, I say THANK YOU! The Easy Off worked like a charm. I sprayed it on, let it sit for about 5 hours, then wiped it right off, just...

Re: Lori and her sister

Wow, I am a little surprised at the strong reaction on here to what I see to be fairly good, prudent advice. I will admit that my comments may have been viewed as a little strong by some people. And...

Re: Lori and her sister

Ok, I just have to jump in on this one - mainly because I live in Phoenix, Arizona, where the daytime temps get up to 118 degrees (been as hot as 122) in the daytime, and it's so hot you can...

Re: joel procrastinated about 4 months, then posted his bike

Not even sure how I ended up over here, but since I did, thought I would mention that I picked up an awesome Frank Thomas XTi waterproof jacket for "winter" riding for over half off at Cycle Gear....

Re: Comolene from shipping, or oil leak - how to tell...?

Thanks guys. I am fairly certain, esp after reading your responses, it is an oil leak of some kind, probably coming from the cylinder head cover, or maybe the exhaust gasket like Easy suggested. I'll...
