Re: Farewell, Old Friend.

Next year Honda is going to come out with a new Insight. It's expected to be about $18,000. It's still pricey, but it's good to see a hybrid under $20,000! We were planning on trading in this...

Re: A tip - a word to the wise

I don't do that, but if I'm not sure what the parking will be like, I might put a clean, crushed soda can in my pocket before I go. I have been lucky so far. Every time that I've parked on gravel,...

Re: Windshields and wind

I have one of the short windshields. It's below my head, and if I am crouched down, my eyes are on level with the top. I have found that it is incredibly helpful with the wind that is created by...

Re: "Bikers" vs. people who just own bikes

*laughs* We had two weddings. I wanted a drive-thru chapel in Vegas, my partner wanted the big, froofie wedding. We had a big, froofie religious ceremony with a gazillion of our family and...

Re: "Bikers" vs. people who just own bikes

My husband hadn't owned a car in ten years until he bought a baja two years ago. Before I moved in with him, he had a motorcycle and a bicycle. He did long trips, short trips, and...

Re: Holy Crap !!

I have a the small Suzuki windshield on my bike. It's not much of a windshield, but when an 18 wheeler is coming towards me, I usually shift a bit to the right (I tend to ride where the left tire of...

Re: Beware of Gravel

There's a dirt bike course about 1 1/2 hours from me. I'm thinking of signing up for it next year. When I was looking at getting my license, I read a few blog posts by men who had been riding...

Re: learner's permit

The MSF class in my area (way way way upstate NY) allowed you to take the class without a permit, but you could only use the class to waive your road test if you showed up with a learner's permit. I...

Re: Carried my first passenger today !!

A couple of weeks ago, I did my first "carry stuff" load. I needed a new helmet (the vents on the old one were busted so it was non-stop whistling when I went over 40 mph, YUCK). I road the 40...

Re: first ride!

It is so important to practice turns! My MSF class didn't focus enough on them. One of the women in the class went home, climbed on her bike, and had an accident her first time on the streets. ...

Re: Wet Pavement / Rain

I had my first wet roads experience last week. I left the house for work on a gorgeous, sunny day, and an hour later it started to rain. It rained all day. I contacted my partner (who had also...

Re: Left my taillight on...

I have no idea of the truth of this, but I've been told that the reason for that parking light option is that the a law in the state of California requires the parking lights be left on in certain...

Re: Getting Comfortable At Speeds

It took me a long time adjusting to "lower" speeds and just learning my bike. My first attempt at more than 35 in a residential zone, I went out early in the morning with a friend following me. I...

Re: The biker wave

It must be location dependent. I find that the Harley folks almost always wave at me. The folks most likely to not wave out here are the young college guys on crotch rockets. I don't always wave...

Re: Parting out or whole bike 03 gz250

*laughs* Sure. Something for me to be sad about because I haven't got anything for carrying anything and am sad and tired of bungying boxes to my backseat (especially since sometimes I haven't got...

Re: How much "play" do you have when your seat is locked?

Are you sure that the seat is locked in? The first time I took my seat off, I put it back on and thought it was weird because it was moving a bit. I realized that you have to use the key to lock it...

Re: Parting out or whole bike 03 gz250

I see that you've got saddlebags. Are the saddlebags and/or the brackets for the saddlebags for sale? I didn't notice them on the list.

Re: Full Face Helmet

One of the reasons my partner wants a full-face, flip-top helmet is to get that last bit of coffee. The other is to kiss me goodbye ;-)

Re: Full Face Helmet

The "real" reason I wear my full face helmet every single ride. Oh, sure, I say it's safety, but I am easily squigged!

Re: Not enough air and front wheel wobblies... All in my head?

Did this situation get taken care of? My first thought was to ask when you were checking tire pressure. My book said that I should always check tire pressure when the tire's cold. Just for the heck...

Re: 2000 GZ250

Our property's almost 1/4 of an acre. That is just the edge strip. It takes hours to mow because it's got a lot of trees, "flower beds" that have gone to weed because the house was empty for...

You need to mow your lawn!!![/quote]

*grins* We prefer to keep it longer. It's less gas being spent so therefore, more gas can go into the bikes!

Here's two photos of my 2000 Suzuki GZ250. This is a great bike! I've been zipping all over my county on the bike. I bought it this summer with the windshield already installed. I believe that...
