bolts for the headers (twice..grrrr...)

BUT I ride...

Re: 1-Yr Anniversary

Yeah here in Florida 100 degrees usually has about 85% humidity. It is actually kind of hard to breathe. I've been to Arizona and your heat isn't anything like ours. It's still hot but it doesn't...

Re: 1-Yr Anniversary

Thanks WW. My parking lot isn't very shady, and even with my bike cover on, the seat still gets hot. Whenever I sit down all I can think about is the "hot hot hot hothot!" noise Mario makes when he...

Thanks guys (well, those of you that left nice comments).

I ride my bike pretty much every week day, but like I said school is only 3 miles away! Same with work, it's about 4.5 miles away. Even if...

1-Yr Anniversary

So this week is my one-year anniversary for owning my GZ! Sadly I've only managed to put about 4k miles on her. I only ride about 6 miles to school and back every day, plus a few awesome adventures....

Re: Front Brake is 'crunchy'

Thanks everyone. I took it up to the shop and the guy changed the fluid. The screws that hold the cap on were rusty and he thinks some may have gotten into the fluid. It works a whole lot better now....

Re: Front Brake is 'crunchy'

Thanks Sarris. I had found the rebuild kit on bikebandit for $17. I really hope either that or the $5 kit will do the trick. *fingers crossed*

Re: Front Brake is 'crunchy'

The guy that I always take my bike to - Sanderson Cycle. I think I might ride by there tomorrow and ask him to just take a look at it. Problem is that I work tomorrow from 10-4 and I have school on...

Re: Front Brake is 'crunchy'

gah.....that's what I was afraid of after reading GZ250's posts. From the service manual it sounds like a really big pain in the ass. *pout*

Front Brake is 'crunchy'

So..I had new front brakes put on in March. Sometime about two weeks ago I noticed that my brake lever would occasionally feel harder to pull. Now, it feels REALLY weird. If you lightly grab it,...

Re: Gear Shifting

Makes sense. Thanks guys, I will try to be more careful in first gear. =)

I was joking with my friend that she takes curves wider than I do, and she said "no way that will make a difference!" but...

Re: Gear Shifting

I noticed that too, and if redline is 9000 rpm is 6500 really that bad?

Also, today I rode with a friend all day. We both gassed up at the same time, but at the end of the ride her trip meter was...

At my job (Home Depot) all of us motorcyclists park on the front apron in front of the fencing display. That way, our bikes don't get hit with carts, forklifts or cars and they are safely under a...

Re: Gear Shifting

On my travels Friday I checked, and yeah, I shift into second going 20mph. The noise is similar to the noise of going about 32 in 2nd gear. I don't have a tach so I have no idea what rpm that is.

Re: Gear Shifting

As mentioned by someone else, I don't actually stare at the spedo when switching gears, but the speed limit on campus is 20mph. I can ride around in first and yeah, it's an annoying sound so I...

Re: Gear Shifting

I think there's a whole thread about this somewhere. I can't imagine being in 3rd at 19mph!! Sometimes when I'm downshifting I accidentally take a turn in third and it feels like I'm never going to...

Re: Riding at Night

I used to be really paranoid about riding at night but now it's cool. I was riding with two friends to Cedar Key and we all hit at least one (already dead) animal going near 60mph and I didn't fall...

Re: Washing and cleaning advice/tips

Cool, thanks guys. I didn't know that about sheepskin, I figured it would get soaking wet and retain water like crazy. Maybe I'm just thinking of this puffy (i thought sheepskin) mitt we used to wash...

Re: Washing and cleaning advice/tips

I'm too scared that helmet thieves at school will steal my helmet. I use one of those big u-locks for bicycles to lock it to the sissy bar. If it looks like rain I take the helmet to class with me....
