aswered my own question
here are the results incase anyone else runs into the same problem
yes the GZ does use a traditional standpipe
this means that when the petcock is set to ON that the gas flows from the tank...

help with debaffle
can anyone post a cross section drawing of the muffler and baffle?
the Vulcan was easy to debaffle simply by cutting through the end plate.
I would like to know how the moise baffle is aatached...

buying a used bike
to be quite honest, If you have a limited knowledge of motorcycles, then you should try to buy a bike from a used bike dealer.
It may cost a bit more at first but could save you 100's to 1000's of...

Being a Suzuki Noob this might seem like a stupid question.
but going from a final drive ratio of 2.73 to a ratio of 2.56 seems like big jump for a small displacement bike.
