Re: Newspaper excerpt

My mother in law is a truly wonderful person, and I enjoy her company. FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS. After that, I'll take my chances with family X.

Re: Newspaper excerpt

Official looking high quality stationery would seem to indicate that whoever played this trick is not personally in inconvenient financial straits! A revival of the spirit of Jonathan Swift's _A...

Re: Tire put on

The shops have big, powerful machines to do that job. You can buy setups to do it in the garage, but the general consensus I've gotten from people who do it routinely is that, to be any good, you...

Re: What was your first bike?

1954 Harley Davidson 165cc Hummer 2 stroke single. It was good for 50 mph on a good day. I bought it for $110.00 at the Buffalo NY Harley dealership. It was 1963, and I was 16. No special license...

Re: Forum Bore Em

I think there's a lot of truth in what the squirrel says, although I'm not so sure it's anything new. I've participated in fora on all kinds of topics since 1995. The format has changed - it used to...

Re: Cabin Fever

Thanks Bonehead and BB. We will definitely do the Alamo, Fredericksburg, and the Riverwalk. That should keep us busy for a few days. I'll do the motorcycle rental, if the weather is good, before she...

Re: Motorcycle of the Future

The original post video actually shows several vehicles, each with a little different configuration. The last two seem to be about the same. As best I can tell, there are three wheels, and when it...

Re: Cabin Fever

Thank you my friend! Is this traffic on 410 all the time, or just at certain times of the day? The motorcycle rental place is in New Braunfels, so a certain amount of riding on 35 will be...

Re: Contemplating Vegas Run

Hey, go for a ride. I don't think 250 miles is too much, especially slabbing it on those western highways. You should be able to get that in easily during daylight hours with plenty of resting time...

Re: Cabin Fever

Well, my solution is pretty well settled. I'm going to drive down to San Antonio in early February and spend a week or so. I'm going to rent a Weestrom (always wanted to ride one of those, never...

Re: Cabin Fever

Well, Alan, it looks like I'm not gonna' talk you into moving here, and I sure as Hell would never live there, so, like you said - to each his own.

Re: Brammo

Looks exciting! I've been waiting for something like this. But, 4 hours on a charger to go 40 miles seems like it's not quite there yet. Soon, though, I'll bet.

Re: Cabin Fever

A serious earthquake might last a minute or two, and kill more people and do more damage and cause more misery than every severe Winter we ever had. And, yes, the fires aren't a big selling point for...

Re: Cabin Fever

We're getting nailed again for the second time in a week. The roads never got clear from the first one. I rode January first, and that was the last time the roads were safe for a bike. I have kind of...

Re: You couldn't make it up!

The way they're using the term "pavement" in the story, I am guessing that's a Britishism for sidewalk, as opposed to street. In the USA there is no consensus yet among states, cities, and towns as...

Re: Bought a Vulcan EN750 on e-bay today

I had an '83 Nighthawk 650 - same as you describe your 550. Way ahead of its time, with full LCD readout including gear indicator and gas gauge. Unfortunately mine was no bargain, as it had been...
