What exactly do you mean by "the spark plug blew out". Do you mean that it shot out of the engine? If so, seems like the threads in the head have gone, so the new plug is not making a seal.:hmm:

If the bike won't start with the sidestand down, it means that it's in gear. It's a safety frature so that you can't ride off with the stand down. Sometimes it's really hard to find neutral on the GZ,

I believe that on an american bike the front turn signals stay on as running lights. (mine was European,with no running lights) Let us know what you find, after you've checked all the wiring.

There should be a constant voltage on the input side (thin wire) of the coil. Check between that terminal and ground. If you don't get a reading it's definitely a fuse. All the kill switches are on...

I haven't got my gz anymore, but when I did, I used to reset the tripmeter after every fill up, then fill up again after 200 kilometers (around 125 miles)
