Re: Bike Bogging Down While Riding

Once I had an oddball problem with the engine reving and dying, would not idle, acted strangely. It turned out that I had left the fuel selector in "PRI" and the carb overflowed into the air box...

The plug over the idle mixture adjusting screw/needle is made from brass. Make sure you identify the correct plug to drill. To drill it out use care not to go in too far. Stop the drill just as it...

Re: Looking for a bike, what years to avoid....

Re: Backfiring

Check the decelaration circut in the carb. It involves the smaller side diaphram and the associated jets. after 10 years or so the diaphram gets stiff and cracked (new ones at bike bandit dot com)....

Re: newbie from west palm beach FL

Welcome from Fort Lauderale. Some of the hawg riders like to circle Lake Ocheechbee on the weekends. That might be an interesting trip from your location. I don't get much riding in after April...

Re: Larger Front Tire (and raise the front Fender)

NUMBERS NUMBER NUMBERS, Well in reference to the height numbers; the rear height rise going from the 130/90-15 to the 140/90-15 is a rise of half the difference in tire diameter or in this case - 4...

Re: Larger Front Tire (and raise the front Fender)

How does it ride? Well it has a 3/4" higher seat and this does seem to make the feel a little taller. The basic ride is the same, but over 40 mph you will notice a bit more stability, probably...

Re: Larger Front Tire (and raise the front Fender)

The Front fender is bolted to the forks from inside the fender. Take special note of the fact that the bolts have a "shelf" or stop ridge between the bolt cap and the threaded part. This is to make...

Re: Larger rear tire.

It is really exciting to do this, just imagine escorting a P-51 Mustang through a crowd of people. The airside ground safety bikes are only a very small portion of the volunteers. Airside you have...

Re: Larger rear tire.

No real change in steering feel. The 110/90 seemed to pull into the turn a little more than the 130/90, the 130/90 is very balanced and does not pull either into or out of a turn. I think the...

Re: Larger rear tire.

I just put a Dunlop D-404 140/90-15 on the rear and a D404 130/90-16 on the front.

Results:

This raises the GZ nearly 3/4 of an inch in height for better ground clearance. You will have to...
