If you run the PSI for 2 up or even a couple over all the time the rear tire will last a lot longer. Bump up the front a couple extra for better tire wear too. When Lynda had her GZ the tires had very little wear at 12000 kms by keeping the PSI up a bit over spec.
As for snow at Whistler, they can have it. We haven't had any snow here but lots of rain which is typical for Squamish especially in November. Today is the first time in weeks that we have a blue sky and sunshine. Looks like a good day for a ride even with temps only a few degress above freezing. Might head toward Whistler if the temps are good there and the roads should be clear.
