Yeah that recently happened to me and i broke a few spokes - to be honest though i was surprised i didn't do it sooner
I use a similar lock (from magnum) but it's covered - i like that you can put it through the wheel and then around the sissy bar to keep it off the ground - maybe i'm just paranoid about dogs marking my bike as they're territory - there also pretty handy if your friend forgets his lock (happens all the time) and you want to lock both bikes with the one chain
