Good news everyone! new battery seems to have been the trick, stuck it in and started right up. Bike idles around 13.5v. now I just need to get a new front tire put on it and a muffler, guy I bought it from was a genius and decided to drill holes in the back of it so every time I ride I'm sitting on a freaking tin can.
