re./ clutch plates

If you look for info on clutches on the net the general consensus is to soak the pads for at least 4 hours. I just changed mine (14,000 miles) and let them soak 48 hours in standard 30 weight. After a couple of days the clutch felt like brand new! I mean so smooth I wondered if it actually shifted. So yes, soak the pads. And no you don't have to disconnect the cable but you do need to adjust the actuator rod. The little screw on the end of the shaft in center of clutch basket.
Seat it and turn a quarter turn out.
