History will always have stories like yours. Going in for a starter bike and having been talked into a larger and much faster bike. That was tried on me but I backed away after some thought. Glad I did. New and returning riders don't need all the HP and speed. They need a sensible bike that doesn't overwhelm them. The GZ will help develop your skills and muscle memory without scaring the life out of you or worse.
A good rider training class will give you an edge to smoother safer riding with no bad habits. I have been there and done that. Couldn't believe how many bad and dangerous habits I had developed over the years.
