Sounds like a plan. You should keep an eye on the oil level until you are confident in the oil usage if any. Of course just checking the oil on a regular basis is highly recommended. I am ocd checking stuff all the time too so no problem at all.
So far haven't had to add oil between changes... Brief as they are.
