Thoughts after 600 miles

I got my '06 GZ a few months ago and have put a little over 600 miles on it so far. It is a great bike with great looks. In town and back roads it is awesome. On the highway, it will keep up with traffic but does it sure buzz.I have had mine up to 72 so far.
I ride with a couple friends one with a 83 silverwing and the other takes his sportster or the ultra classic h.d. The only times I have trouble is when they slow down then speed back up, well my GZ takes a little time to speed back up.
The love for my bike is great and I don't think I'll ever sell it even if I get a bigger bike. This thing is so nimble and fun.
I am going to schedule my BMV test soon so I can ride it to work at night. I still need to work on hard braking because at first I was in a bad habit of back brake only.

Did I mention to you to pick up a copy of Proficient Motorcycling. The book is a wealth of info for new and old riders. And yes, it does include how to brake hard and not wipe out. Read from cover to cover and give your Guardian Angel a little rest.

Yes, you should always use the front brake slightly before the back ...EXCEPT ... If you're riding slowly, with the bars turned, and use the front brake, the bike WILL go down. This is the one time you use the back brake only.

Never brake hard with the rear brake only, when negoitiating a curve, or you may get a nasty and unwanted surprise!
