Worth it?

I am looking into buying my first bike this weekend and really like the look of the GZ250. I narrowed it down to the GZ or a Rebel, but I think the slightly higher weight and size of the GZ makes it a winner for me. I am attaching the craigslist add that the specific GZ I am looking at is on...since I don't really know much about motorcycles in general, what do you guys think? Good deal or no deal?

(I know this posting is really old, but I have been texting the guy and he still has the bike)

Re: Worth it?

A good looking for the price.
See how it starts and runs.
Good luck

Definitely do not get the Rebel unless you are shorter than about 5'6". It's absolutely horrible for leg room. Great motor and everything, since it's a Honda.

Good looking bike. Ask for a history of maintenance and repairs if any have been done. That will give you a fair idea of the bike's history.
I second the comment about the Rebel. A little tight for a taller rider but a great bike. The GZ is larger and should be more comfy in the long run.

Re: Worth it?

I am about 5'9 so I think I could manage either, but comfort is definitely a concern. I like that it holds a little more gas and is a little heavier as well. Thanks for all of your input! I am going to check her out tomorrow, my brother is a long-time rider and will be coming with me to check it out as well. I'll post the results here! Thanks for all of the advice!

Sounds good to have your Bro in your corner. Keep in mind if he test rides the bike he will likely say it is gutless. He probably has experience with more powerful bikes and will use them as a comparison. I did that with Lynda's GZ and wasn't impressed initially. The next day after a 2 hour ride home on the bike I had a totally different outlook and opinion of the bike.
