Re: Just bought 2007 GZ250 w/ 6000 miles!

Hi! You did get some great deals. Kudos on the armor. I love armor. Anyway, someone usually has to say that you should run some carb cleaner, like chem b12 or seafoam, at the regular concentration or up to double the concentration (usually 1-2oz per gallon) through the tank to clean the carb and this sometimes/often cures the idle problems. Also, recommend David L. Hough's book, "Proficient Motorcycling." It's great.

er... kinda curious how you got home before getting a helmet but I probably shouldn't ask.

.. Oh, and also, they need to be warmed up properly before they'll run/idle well, and you usually set the choke first to get it started and warmed up, and then as it warms up and you're ready to go, you close the choke so that it runs better. Not sure if you were doing that yet.

Re: Just bought 2007 GZ250 w/ 6000 miles!

Thanks! I got the helmet, armor, and gloves before I drove it home. I felt like $1200 was a fantastic price and had to have it lol. Haven't found anything on craigslist even close to that price for the great condition this bike was in.

I will definitely run some seafoam through her. How much should I put in 1 tank of gas? I've heard anywhere from 1/3 bottle to half bottle.

A 1/3 of a bottle in a full tank of fuel is fine. :2tup:

For mechanical gifted people the carb is not hard clean.Preventive maintenance is better for others.I don't find the carb hard to clean either. But I would still prefer to not have to do it.Also SeaFoam or Berrymans b-12 is very good at cleaning combustion chambers & and valves.

Really great windshield! Non classic but it reminds me of a serie Sons of Anarchy... Who is the maker of this windshield and what's the price if anyone knows?
