but when I accelerate and shift it seems to of its timing

when I give gas to shift it seems to go in hi revs then it shifts

We need a little more info. What do you mean when you say give it some gas to shift? Normal operating is to back off the throttle to shift.

As for difficulty finding 1st gear at a stop you need to shift into 1st just before coming to a stop. It is also recommended as a safety issue. Always be in a position to get away quickly in case something happens that may cause you injury. If you glance in the mirror and see a car sliding sideways with all 4 tires smoking.............Get the Hell out of Dodge.
