Re: think my battery is dying.

Seeing is believing but I don't understand why Suzuki would do that. Not being able to prime dry carbs is sort of dumb. Also, does your bike have a low gas tank light or gas guage ? If not there should at least be a reserve setting somewhere.

I don't think ANY of Honda's bikes have PRIme.
I was surprised to see it on the GZ.
A holdover from an older design maybe ???

I don't know what the dominate design is on new bikes.

I don't think any bike with a fuel gage has a res or prime. They have a low fuel light insted of a res on the petcock.

Re: think my battery is dying.

it does have a fuel gauge it also can be chaged to a different screen, by pushing a button u can view a clock or either of the tripometers or the milage of the bike on the little digital screen, it is just missing a tachometer

it is stupid not to have a prime setting if you ask me...

I think they eliminated the prime so there would be no way to forget about it and flood the engine,as it can do a lot of damage.

that is a very good point.. it take a while to get gas back in the carb and the damn couple of back fires you get before it does are annoying... i think thos are where it thought it had enough gas to start but did not.....

Re: think my battery is dying.

Fuel injected bikes don't have a petcock. They use a vacuum operated valve.

Yes,but Danny's bike is carburated. You would have no need for "prime" on a fuel injected bike. O_o

Re: think my battery is dying.

Interesting info. Usually a carb bike has a reserve setting and a prime in my experience. Danny's bike appears to be a mavrick bike. Carbs and a gas gauge to warn of impending fuel shortage(empty). I still don't get no prime position but that was a corporate decision. Most if not all FI bikes have a gas gauge or warning light for low fuel.
