Can't turn ignition key to lock position.

Thoughts on how to fix? I push down and turn, but it won't move all the way to lock.
All help is appreciated.

In case you don't know. The locking pin will only work when the bars are turned to the full left position. Sometimes jiggling the bars a bit will help too.
As suggested, the ignition switch may need a little lubrication to free up the tumblers inside. Let us know how you make out.

Also the locking pin itself may be seized from non-use.Mine was.You need to lube the lock pin itself & make sure it can slide when you turn the key to "lock".

Don't forget, when you DO get it fixed, don't turn the key all the way to the left. This is the position for locked and rear light on. You need to turn the key to one click before the last position.

Don't push too hard,I start mine with a flathead but it won't turn when I apply pressure, just a thought.

This.

Just came across this issue yesterday. Couldn't get the key out to save my life when parking at the house. Had to take the key off the keyring to get my other keys to get inside my home and search for some WD40 or PB Blaster... but I had none! Hopped back on the bike and headed to the parts store. After parking the bike, the key came out just fine. Lubed it up anyway, but somewhere along the way I realized that the handlebars must be in the full left position. Pretty good feature, actually.... you just need to know about it, tho.

Jiggling the handlebars is definitely the correct answer.

Thanks everyone. Jiggling the handlebars worked to perfection. Like someone said, all the way to the left and then half a click to the right.
