Yeah, drain it all out, and fill again with the bike straight up. Little by little and check the sight glass.

Why not just draw some out through the filler hole? It may take more time, but I think it would be more convenient and less messy.

That is exactly what I was thinking. Using a turkey baster and drawing it out.
