Has anyone added a clock to their GZ250? - Page 2

A clock on the bike is very nice to have. Wearing a watch can be very impractible when wearing gloves and a jacket. A visible time piece on the bike is best and can be seen the easiest. As for being late for work/school/appt, think of it this way. Stop looking at the time and enjoy the ride. Being late is better than not getting there due to trying to catch up and having a mishap that might spoil your entire future.

There is plenty of times I've been wanting to ride for only an hour or so and get back home so I could get ready for work or something. Like WW said, a watch is nice to have on your arm if you're squiding around without a jacket and gloves, but for someone who wears ATGATT, including gauntleted gloves, it's very impractical. A glance down would be preferable to know it's about time to start shagging back to the homestead.

Also, I agree with Newbiker. If you're running late or that is even possible, DON'T ride the bike. Take your car. You're much more likely to be distracted and careless by being impatient and worried about the time if you're late. Careless and distracted can and very probably will be deadly on a motorcycle commute.

A few dollars of gas is worth it compared to a few thousand or more in the hospital.

I used an old watch I had. Took the band off and stuck it on with 2 sided tape works great and did not cost anything!!!! :2tup:

Just remembered. Got a Gold Seiko when I retired. Wonder if Lynda would like that on her GZ ?? I never wear it anyway.

You totally rock for that link. I ran across this months back and completely lost it. AMOF, that particular clock is exactly what I was thinking about when I saw this thread, but couldn't for the life of me find it again.

Also, I've been looking for a "beverage" holder for my bike.

I've used a cheap sports watch with an easy to read digital face strapped between the handle bar mounts. It works pretty well but sometimes it rotates around from the vibration of the bike and requires taking a hand off the bars to read when this happens. Could be hazardous in heavy traffic but it is a good cheap solution.
