Taking the rider test...

I want to get my licence (currently on permit). The safety course is booked up for months, which im going to take but i would like to get my licence in the meantime. What all is involved with the road test for a motorcycle? I'd rather go prepared than not. :2tup:

Of course, it depends on the state. But in Oregon, since all motorcycle riders also have a drivers license, you only need to demonstrate skills in the parking lot. Moving around cones and demonstrating that you have enough control to stop in a designated area (not overshooting or undershooting).
I think you might also need to show that you know the parts of your bike (where's the brake, clutch, etc.).

I was in the same boat. The Motorcycle Rider Course was completely filled through March (ouch!). So I decided to just show up on location and wait to see if there were any no-shows. On my very first attempt I was in! I was so happy, my friend at work was salty...he has been trying for months to get in. I just tried a bit harder. I would recommend calling and finding out what their policy on walk-ins are. You may luck out like me. give it a try, you never know.

There were two no shows in my class. Apparently, this is fairly common occurrence.
