Just got a 99 GZ250 down here in SoCal

I am a roofer and was given this bike as part of trade for work done. He valued it at about $600 so with only 5k on the clock it was a steal. It has been registered non op since 05 and garage kept. Its super clean. So far I have replaced the battery, oil change, air filter, ngk plug, added fuel filter, rebuilt/cleaned the carb and serviced the air filter.

About 2 weeks ago it was sitting in the driveway when a buddy knocked it over with his car and bent the handlebars so I went on Ebay and Amazon and went kinda crazy:

Shinko 777 whitewalls front and rear (yes, they fit)
La Rosa brown leather solo seat
12 inch, narrow, mini apes
16 t front sprocket and new chain
Sportster peanut tank with petcock, cap and braided fuel line
New grips, levers and lines

Gonna be sweeeet!

Sounds like a fun bike. Post some pics so we can see what you did.

By the way, is this your first bike?

Here it is as I bought it. I will post follow up pics when the work continues. Also not my first bike. I had a Honda Hawk 400 and a Honda Sonic 125 dual sport conversion

Welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a fun project in mind. Like WW2 said, please post pics both during and after your mods. We would love to see them.
