Oil and ZDDP levels

Does the GZ have a cam and flat rocker type tappet system as found on the S40 / Savage? Does the motor oil need to have at least 1200 ppm of zinc to avoid excessive wear? (apparently zinc levels were dropped in most oils b/c of negative effects to catalytic converters) :hide:

Re: Oil and ZDDP levels

The GZ has a rocker arm set-up so it is easy to do a valve adjust. No shims and disassembly required. The GZ has a 4 valve head where as the S-40 is a 2 valve head if my memory cells are all firing. Don't worry about the chemical formulation of oil. Any oil that is recommended for a motorcycle should meet all requirements without messing up a catalytic converter. The GZ does not have a CAT so you are home free.
