Another Shinko 230 Tour master

was an expensive day because I got it replaced at the shop but a new tire gives a great feeling so I am happy.

Price $89.95 from local dealer (Bikebandit has the same for $72.00). In 2009 I replaced both (F & R).

Front: Continental Ultra TKV 11/12 - is still good
Rear: Shinko 230 Tour master - it did 12085 miles in 3yrs and 7 months - is this a good mileage for a rear tire?

Oh, that's pretty.

Who doesn't love a little bike porn?

I've got nearly 25,000 km (nearly 16,000 miles) on my original factory fitted MC7, with still plenty of tread. Had to replace the front tyre a thousand or so kilometers ago.

I'm 175 lbs. the tarmac is all broke up, and the temperatures go up to over 100º in summer. However, most roads on the island are 30m mph limit, and there are no twisties.

weight, temps and air pressure have everything to do with tire life. i'd say thats a respectable distance. that tire spins pretty fast, too as small as it is. i had a 250 nighthawk that i rode from central texas to south georgia. the tires were in good shape when i left. the rear was shot when i got home. it was slick down the center. i'm pretty sure i had it loaded right to the limit.
