Inspired by Easy I now use heavy oil for my chain, works like a charm. I will also use it for the cables. And for the clutch and brake levers' pivot points.

I think your choice is perfect for those other things but I would NOT recommend it for use INSIDE the cable sheaths. Over time, it will likely get a lot thicker than you want. For the cables, I prefer a much thinner oil........or a silicone spray lube actually.
